Spice Girls Comeback

The Spice Girls are back! After years of persistent rumours of a reunion, the Spice Girls announced in June 2007 that they would be reuniting for a worldwide concert tour beginning in December, which would be accompanied by a new greatest hits album and documentary.
The Spice Girls came together as a group in 1996 and infused their music with a fiercely independent, feminist stance that was equal parts Madonna, post-riot girl alternative rock feminism, and a co-opting of the good-times-all-the-time stance of England's new lad culture. The group quickly became chart-toppers throughout Europe, before concentrating in America in early 1997, eventually establishing themselves as a phenomenon throughout every country. The Spice Girls had already become massive stars worldwide when their second album, Spiceworld, appeared in conjunction with their feature film of the same name that propelled them to even bigger fame.
