Woodstock (South Africa)

First held in 1999, Woodstock has rapidly become South Africa's major annual youth festival. With four stages and after-gig parties, the festival, held at the Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort, north of the Hartbeespoort Dam, includes up-and-coming and established South African bands and sports from motocross to wakeboarding.
Founded by Simon Fourie, owner of Bike SA, to fill a gap for his own kids who were too young to attend club gigs, South Africa's Woodstock has grown from its small beginnings in Heidelberg for a few thousand over two days to a four-day extravaganza with upwards of 18,000 festival-goers.
Whatever the line-up, there is much more to do than listen to music. Get your fill of sporting thrills and spills with top motocross expos, BMX expos, the Red Bull Vert Ramp and street course and wakeboarding from the SA Wakeboarding Association. For relaxation there are food traders, beer gardens, restaurants, Hare Krishna food gardens, tattoo artists, piercers and alternative and circus entertainers.
As well as plenty of camping on site, the surrounding area has many self-catering facilities and other accommodation, which are all ready to make this year's Woodstock the best yet.
All skaters, roller-bladers, rock climbers, music lovers, nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, swimmers and general party animals are called to join the activities. Don't miss out.
