Australia's biggest outdoor celebration of country music, the Toyota National Country Music Muster boasts the cream of Australian country and blues, now presented over 12 venues across the Amamoor Creek State Forest Park. A great party atmosphere, with singing, dancing and camping, allows you to really enter into the festival spirit and all proceeds go to worthy causes.
It all started in 1982 and 2006 sees the 25th National Country Music Muster. Set in beautiful bushland, the park comes alive during this festival with a fantastic atmosphere of warm campfires, starry nights and days full of music. Every year there's a huge line-up of entertainment to suit various tastes, not just country music fans, with numerous stages and venues on site.
The festival opens with a huge explosion of fireworks and is televised all over the country. A naturally sloping amphitheatre provides the perfect setting for the main stage. In addition, there's the Crowbar, with its exciting programme of contemporary music, line dancing and workshops, and Dark & Stormy Blues at the Tavern, an all-round good-time venue with bluesy, swampy, funkedelic sounds in an intimate atmosphere.
As well as the other venues there is a plethora of cuisine to choose from. There's also the largest talent search of its kind in Australia. In the mornings, head out for a bush poet and bluegrass breakfast, before lunching at the Muster's lagoon wine bar, while the kids have their own kids' country to keep them occupied!
